Lahore Fort is one of the famous tourist attraction in Lahore , Pakistan .
It is a massive structure spreading over 20 hectares , it is situated in the north of the walled city of
Lahore . it was build in 1566. It has many notable monuments which dated back to the reign of Akbar.

The beginnings of the current Lahore Fort date back to 1566 during the reign of Emperor Akbar, who conferred on the fort a syncretic architectural style that incorporated both Islamic and
Hindu motifs.[2 ] The additions from the
Shah Jahan era was distinguish by lavish marble inlaid with Persian floral designs,
while the Great and Iconic Alamgiri Gate was made by the last of the ancient Alamgiri Gate
After the fall of the Mughal Empire, Lahore Fort was used as the residence of Emperor
Ranjit Singh, the founder of the Sikh Empire..
After annexing Punjab after their victory over the Sikhs at the Battle of Gujrat in
February 1849, the fort passed to the British colonialists.In 1981, the fort was declared a
UNESCO World Heritage Site for its "outstanding reper toire" of Mughal monuments.

Ranjit Singh, the founder of the Sikh Empire.After annexing Punjab after their victory over
the Sikhs at the Battle of Gujrat in February 1849, the fort passed to the British colonialists.
